Vault of Vesuvius (VoV) is a non-profit organization focused on digitally preserving and reimagining Pompeii's ancient wall art. Working with the Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and the Pompeii UNESCO World Heritage Site, VoV helps protect one of the world's most remarkable archaeological treasures. By creating digital versions of Pompeii's frescoes and graffiti as NFTs, VoV preserves these works, funds their conservation, and makes them accessible to people worldwide.
Using advanced imaging and historical research, VoV produces high-resolution, limited-edition NFTs of Pompeii's most significant and rare frescoes. Each piece maintains its cultural context, and all digital assets are created with transparency and respect for the original sites. These NFTs function like traditional NFTs that can be bought, sold, and collected. However, VoV operates entirely as a non-profit, serving the legacy of human history rather than investors.
Five percent of every NFT trade or resale automatically goes to preservation organizations, including UNESCO and other archaeological foundations. These funds support ongoing excavations, site conservation, climate protection efforts, and artifact preservation. The remaining proceeds advance VoV's mission of public education and digitizing endangered cultural sites. VoV keeps no private profit from sales; it exists solely as a fundraising tool for heritage preservation and a digital learning platform.
Pompeii's art represents more than decoration. It's a living record of Roman Empire life, capturing myth and ritual, love and commerce, tragedy and resilience.
